Retail Manager at Bristol Wood Recycling Project, 4-5 days / week.
BWRP needs an organised, friendly, creative and energetic individual to take on the position of Retail Manager. This is a great opportunity for an individual to develop a wide range of skills associated with co-operatively running a social enterprise. You could be a cornerstone in the running of this pioneering and exciting project.
The basic responsibilities are for the retail operations of BWRP. This means looking after wood and customers, and working with other BWRP departments and volunteers in shop related matters. An ordered, safe, attractive and tidy shop is of great importance. Customers have to be greeted, helped and served. Volunteers need to be included, guided and supported. Simultaneously the income of the Project must be constantly nurtured and stimulated, so an enterprising and business-like approach to BWRP's assets and liabilities in the shop and yard has to be adopted. BWRP survives mostly on income generated by collecting and selling wood. The Retail Manager will be fundamental in ensuring the continued success of the Project.
