Fire Station Doors!
Blimey!
These are rather special. Just arrived this afternoon we have doors from the old Bath Fire Station. Just over 13 foot tall and made from hardwood, they'll not fit in everyone's home. However, they'd make an amazing feature partition for a high ceilinged place, bar/restaurant etc.
The timber alone is worth quite a bit but we're selling each door for just £50 each.

Sheet materials reclaimed
Suddenly we are in bed with the sheets again! There's a mixed stack of reclaimed sheet materials in the yard, which means they aint new, but can be used. There's approx 100 full sheets of OSB/sterling board, 18mm thick, for £9 each. There's some bashed up full sheets of 12mm & 18mm ply, painted on one side, for a max of £13 but most much less. There's also a stack of MDF and chipboard. Get down quick before they disappear.

Larger dimensioned softwood timber
Now in are some interesting older large dimensioned softwood timbers. These include some 20 lengths of 7x1 and 7x2inch old joists, in lengths upto 4M but the majority closer to 2M. Also in are lengths of 5x3inch, mainly at a length of 1.5M to 2M. You can see here att our

Scaffold Planks - various sizes
We have a good selection of different sizes of secondhand scaffold planks now in the yard (Note: these are not new and are not suitable for use on scaffold). Prices for the planks are as follows: under 1M is £2; 1M is £3; upto 2M is £6; upto 3M is £9; 3.9M is £12. We'll knock off 50p for each notch cut out of the plank, and another 50p for each split end. We also have bargain planks which are in poorer condition but are generally okay for raised beds and compost bins etc. Get in quick....they will go soon.

Shelving units...from Russia!
We have some 10 shelving units. They look like Ikea shelves, but were made in Russia...madness! The units measure 100cm wide x 50cm deep x 174cm high, and are going for the absurd price of £20.00. We also have a large stack of the individual shelves & uprights for these units, costing £2 to £4 each. Great for storage in the home, office, garage & shed.

We get a fair few artists coming into the woodyard, looking for something unusual to work with, or sometimes just a plain old piece of ply! A recent visitor was Morwhenna, who needed a couple of bits, and a part-sheet of hardboard. She was so happy to have found us she even wrote a

making bags out of reclaimed old shirts, so she's a green artist too.

BWRP Open Day on Sat 9th June
We celebrate our 8th birthday with an Open Day this Saturday - All Are Welcome - to browse, chat, participate, and even buy some wood! There'll be tea & cake, a planter workshop, info and site tour, wooden game/competition (worth £50 to the winner), and a stall from the
Eastside Roots garden project. All the team will be on duty to explain why we do what we do, and how! The event is also a part of the
Bristol's Big Green Week Fringe Events. We hope to see you - from 10am to 4pm!

Sprouting willow logs/tree offcuts
Some fool cut down a willow tree...we managed to get hold of some of the smaller logs/branches. Some of them are already sprouting new leaves, so if you want to try and plant one to grow it? Or you may want to take the willow away to work with? Cost from £2 to £10 per piece.

For the early June bank holiday weekend our openin hours are as follows:
Saturday 2 June - our yard & shop is OPEN from 10am to 4pm.
We are then CLOSED from Sunday to Tuesday, 3 to 5 June.
We RE-OPEN on Wednesday 6 June at 11am, until 5pm.
Thereafter our opening hours are as usual.

Loadsa new stock in!
Heavy sales in the first 3 months of 2012 left us low on stock...but we've now reclaimed a stack of wood to refill our bays & racks - dimensioned softwood timber (incl lots of short lengths of small dimensioned timber), shelves, doors, some furniture, some interesting pieces of hardwood, more firewood, scaffold planks, a strange large wooden fish, and of course products from the workshop which are out on display. We have 4 packs of beautiful bamboo, T&G parquet flooring. Each pack covers 0.9 sqM and costs £9.00 each, so a total of £36.00 for 3.6sqM.

Heavy timbers!
We have a range of heavy timbers in the yard at present, not enough to rebuild the Broadmead Galleries, but its a start. There's about 16 lengths of 6 x 4 inch upto 3.6M long; over 20 lengths of 7 x 2 inch upto 4M long; half a dozen lengths of 7 x 3 inch upto 4M long; 5 lengths of 8 x 3 inch upto 4M long; and a few other items.Some of this wood has been pressure treated for outdoor use. Ideal for some serious DIY or small building jobs.

workers co-operative, with much help from
Avon CDA. We are also now members of
Co-Operatives UK, and are one of

More T&G Maple flooring!
We have just picked up even more of the excellent T&G Maple flooring that has been added to the remainder of the same flooring that we got in on 12 January. It is exactly the same brand and sizes, and sands off lovely! The price remains the same too - £2 per linear M, with approx 16 linear M's equal to a square M. Firelighters, kindling & logs
New in stock we have some 100% biomass (wood & veg oil) firelighters, costing £2.00 per packet (28 pieces per pack, each piece burns for 8+ minutes). Also now available we have net sacks of Kindling at £3.50 each.
Then once your fire is going, to go with it we have the kiln-dried Ash Logs (£6.50 per 15kg net sack), the Eco-Logs (£6.00 per 12kg paper sack), and the chunky workshop offcuts (£5.00 per 12kg sack, incl a 50p sack deposit). That should see off this late cold spell!

Good hardwood tree offcuts
We have some lovely hardwood tree offcuts in interesting shapes & sizes. The wood has come from our friends at the Forest of Avon yard. It includes ash, larch, elm, cherry, lime, tulip, beech and a little oak. It is priced from £3.00 to £30.00, and there is also a hexagonal table top made from elm for £35.00. There are some lengths upto 3M, and widths go upto 50cm. This wood can be turned into something great once its been worked on.

Just in we have 21 lengths of 6 x 4 inch (150 x 100mm) softwood timber. All lengths are between 2.7 and 3.6M, and it costs £3.79 per M.

T&G Maple fooring
We have in some excellent
reclaimed clear hard T&G maple flooring, originally from Canada (
Muskoka). It will need sanding off - sanded sample in our yard.
There is in excess of 200 linear M, mainly in lengths of around 3M. It is 60mm wide and 18mm thick (or 2.375 x 0.75 inches). Approx 16 linear M is equal to 1 sq M.
Cost is £2.00 per linear M.
Or
bulk buy 16 linear M (ie 1 sq M)

Fire! in the home
Now back in stock after fast running out - the excellent Eco-Logs at £6.00 for 12kg in a recyclable paper bag. Made purely from dried sawdust, with no glue etc, they are the green alternative and go great in burners, and large open fires.

Quality Ash LOGS now in
BWRP now has in stock some quality ash logs for your home fires. They are from an HETAS accredited source in South Gloucs. Cost £6.50 for an approx 15kg net sack, containing split logs 26 to 30cm (10 to 12 inch) long.
The logs are kiln dried ash (a min 80% content of ash), with a very low moisture content, making them possibly the driest and hotest logs around.

Chunky workshop off-cuts, mainly softwood with some hard, for £5.00.

In stock is a stack of hefty ex-joist contruction timber - reclaimed, denailed and cleaned up. Loads of 6x2inch joist timber at lengths upto 4.5M at £1.76 per M; a number of lengths of 7x2inch at lengths upto 3.5M at £2.12 per M; plus a variety of other dimensions of joist type wood. In response to popular demand, we now have in stock a selection of screws. They are cross-head (phillips) screws, in lengths of 15mm to 70mm, costing 2p to 5p each. A little bit of Glastonbury
BWRP was delighted to be asked to reclaim timber from the Greenpeace space at Glastonbury 2011, and its now back in our yard (we brought some rain back too). The wood is all pressure treated/tannalised and comes in the following dimensions: 4 x 1, 3 x 2, 6 x 2. All in a variety of lengths. Get along quick before it all goes.

Staircases, snooker balls and more
Our second-hand furniture & oddities section continues to hold some real gems. They aren't quite all wood - we have 3 x 22 ball sets of snooker balls at £15.00 each. There's 2 x 13 step staircases, 86cm wide, made from pine with MDF treads, at £100.00 for a good as new one, and £65.00 for one that needs work. There is more - beds, desks, odd tables and so on. Olde pitch pine joists cut to 2M
We've just picked up some seriously olde 11 x 3 inch pitch pine joists. They've been cut to lengths of approx 2M, but will make a wicked bench or table top, mantlepiece or shelf, or use your imagaination. We'll sand them too if you ask us to. Cost £18.00 per length.

The wood from the trees
We have a large number of offcuts from a timber yard. Mostly wood from sycamore trees, but some oak and yew. Interesting shaped pieces alongside more standard beam & plank-type lengths. Ideal for making benches, mantlepieces, cills or ornamental fittings. Various prices from £6.00 to £50.00.

Something for the garden?
Spring is in the air...we have more cable reels, making excellent tough outdoor tables - details below.
Also in a variety of packing cases that have been made up to be planters, a massive 3m x 35cm x 25cm, at £10/15. And even more cases at about 2m x 60cm that make good storage, plus a few odd ones.
Also in some reclaimed garden wood; lots of posts; plenty of thick joist type wood for allotment terracing of making veg beds in the back garden. Come and have a look.

Cable Reel Tables
We have a quantity of sturdy wooden cable reels that make excellent tables inside, and especially outside for the summer.
They come in a diameter of 60 to 120cm, and are 60 to 85cm high. Priced at £10 to £25 for current stock.
We also have 2 large 'wheels off our wagon' sturdy but rough round table tops from a dismantled reel. Approx 170cm diameter, £30 each ONO.
Also available ply cable reels at £3 to £15 each dependant on size.

Reclaimed 9 x 2 scots pine joists
Just picked up a large number of reclaimed scots pine joists at 9 x 2 inch and lengths upto 5 metres. Snap them up at £4 per M before they've gone.

Hardwood skirting/shelving?
Just in a stack of mainly ash wood that has been used as skirting but could be used for shelving or cladding. Lengths upto 3m long and 5 x 1inch dimensions. £2.59 per metre.
Has been painted/treated on 1 side and 1 edge (green or purple).

Hardwood door-frame parts
We have recently taken in, and taken apart, around 10 brand new hardwood doorframes. We also have architrave to go with it.
The wood is mainly ash, with some oak. Varnish on one surface. Lengths up to 2.1m, including for example 4x2inch at £9.00 per length. Come and get them before they disappear.

An excellent 2-part solid beech desk, with 7 legs, for £60.00; an oval drop-leaf extendable dining table for £60.00 that needs a polish. Some smaller coffee style tables ideal for a DIY clean up, and a few cheap tables for various uses.

Engineered hardwood flooring
Recently received - packs of pretty good engineered hardwood flooring. Oak, beech and maple. Various grades. Packs go upto 2.8 metres squared, priced at £15.00 to £40.00 per pack. There's also a selection of individual lengths of flooring for a few pounds. These boards also have other uses beyond flooring - creative ideas welcome.

ECO heat logs 4 sale
Just in! We are now selling ECO heat logs, at £5.00 for a 10kg box. Made from compressed sawdust from a Hereford saw mill, they are lower on moisture content, burn well and hotter, and you can use the ash in the garden. No glue is used. For wood burners and open fires, they are a viable alternative to logs, especially if those logs are damp! We also have sacks of untreated hard & softwood chunky offcuts, at £4.50 a 12kg sack (includes refundable 50p when you return the sack).

Iroko hardwood flooring

YARD & SHOP OPEN AGAIN
Our yard and shop are open again to customers, usual opening times are go. The tree frame of our new storage shelter is up, and roofing and racking will occur over the next few weeks. This does mean we are slightly restricted for space, and customers will not be able to access the whole yard. Please bear with us while we improve our facilities, and we apologise for any inconvenience. Why not come down and see how our new shelter is progressing?

WOOD YARD REFIT & CLOSURE
The wood yard and shop will be closed on Wednesday & Thursday, 27 & 28 October 2010. This will allow us to complete the tricky first stage of refitting our wood yard, which involves a crane and long, heavy lengths of tree trunks!
We do apologise to any customers inconvenienced by the closure, and upheaval in the yard...but we believe it will allow us to give you a better service in the future.
